EURAFCENT Service Desk

Contracted by Serco Inc. for the Commander, Naval Installations Command (CNIC), I was the designated SharePoint site collection administrator for Region Europe, Africa, Central (EURAFCENT). Along with my responsibilities of maintaining user permissions and site content, I built and deployed a new service desk operation from the ground up.

To replace the increasingly aging and cluttered ticketing system previously used, I used Microsoft SharePoint Designer in conjunction with Microsoft InfoPath to develop a more connected system using multiple lists and workflows to route ticket email alerts to various Exchange mailbox addresses.

VT Alerts

Based at alerts.vt.edu, VT Alerts is a multi-campus emergency alert system serving the main Blacksburg campus of Virginia Tech as well as its various remote locations throughout the state. With over 60,000 subscribers, VT Alerts serves alert messages through multiple mediums including email, text message, and voice message as well as hundreds of emergency messaging signs located throughout the campus.

Together with the lead developer of the project, I took part in developing a modernized interface to replace the increasingly outdated original version. The system utilizes Python controllers with a Node.js front-end to serve a smooth, easy-to-use experience.

PNSY Network

As a network administrator at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, I configured, maintained, and administered Cisco Catalyst network routers and switches running the on-base network in Kittery, ME as well as the detachment networks in San Diego, CA and New London, CT. While providing security-compliant network services to users across these , I also provided direct IT support to the on-base Emergency Control Center for mission-critical network and hardware maintenance.
